FAQs for Interior Painting

It’s not every day you have your house painted, so naturally, a lot of people have questions about how the process works. We broke down the most common questions into this FAQ post for you.

What do I need to do to get ready for painters?

Not much really! Make sure we can access the walls so we would ask that you clean up all of the things that could be piling up in rooms, and if you’re able, move the furniture to a different room or close together into the middle of the room. Also, if you’re baseboards haven’t been wiped down in a while and are dusty, it might be a good idea to clean them up before we arrive.

What products do you use?

We will use whatever you want us to use based on your budget and the quality you are looking for. We tend to stick with Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams products since they are the two best quality paint providers.

How long should I expect the job to take?

Of course, this depends on the size of the project. We usually have 2-4 guys from our crew on a job at a time so we can move quickly. Plan for a week at least and if we are done early then that’s just bonus time with your newly painted rooms!

Do I have to be home?

Short answer - no. However, we understand that you may be more comfortable being home when we are working on your project and that you may want to take some days off from work to be there. Just let us know and we will make sure to give you as much notice as possible before we are going to begin your job.

Can my pets be home?

Yes - we love pets! But, if they’re nosey or if they’re a cat that likes to rub up on the walls, we would recommend blocking the area off or shutting them in another room so they don’t track paint around or get hair in the paint.

What about the kids?

The kids can be home too! But if you’re worried about the fumes and if it’s winter and we can’t open windows, it might be best to send them to grandma’s house for the day.
